From Heating and Cooling to Hot Water... LG Electronics Unveils New Heat Pump Solution in Europe
Participating in the Four-Day 'MCE 2026' HVAC Exhibition
Revealing New Indoor Units for Climate Control and Hot Water Distribution
Building a Comprehensive HVAC Lineup for Commercial and Industrial Sectors
LG Electronics is accelerating its push into the European residential HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) market with an integrated heat pump system optimized for the region. The company also plans to further solidify its market leadership in the commercial and industrial sectors by leveraging differentiated product competitiveness with its system air conditioners and chillers.
LG Electronics participated in the air conditioning exhibition "MCE 2026," which opened on the 24th (local time) in Milan, Italy. Models are examining three types of the air source heat pump indoor units first introduced by LG Electronics: ▲Control Unit ▲Hydro Unit ▲Combi Unit. LG Electronics
View original imageLG Electronics announced that it is participating in "Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2026," held in Milan, Italy for four days starting March 24 (local time), to showcase HVAC solutions covering residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. MCE is a biennial air conditioning exhibition, and this year, more than 1,600 companies from 49 countries around the world are taking part.
In the residential exhibition area, LG Electronics is presenting a comprehensive HVAC total solution centered on the air source heat pump (AWHP), which is widely used in Europe, encompassing heating, cooling, and hot water supply systems. Europe is the largest market for residential heat pumps, which are attracting significant attention in the region due to their convenience of installation and non-reliance on fossil fuels.
The air source heat pump is a heating, cooling, and hot water supply system that uses air as a heat source. It operates by recovering heat from the outdoor air or releasing indoor heat to the outside. The heat of the air brought in by the outdoor unit is used to compress refrigerant, which then releases heat to warm water. This heated water flows from the outdoor unit through the indoor unit and water tank, and is used for heating and hot water throughout the home.
LG Electronics is showcasing its full lineup of differentiated technologies, including the "Therma V R290 Monobloc" outdoor unit for air source heat pumps, which uses R290 refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) of just 0.02.
Additionally, the company is unveiling for the first time three new types of air source heat pump indoor units: ▲Control Unit ▲Hydro Unit ▲Combi Unit. These indoor units are connected to the outdoor unit, control the home's heating and cooling, and distribute hot water. From the design stage, the new products have been developed with European customers’ needs and expectations in mind, focusing on ease of installation, user convenience, and design. Remote access and control are available via LG ThinQ.
The basic Control Unit is designed as a simple, standalone product that does not require plumbing connections. The Hydro Unit integrates key heat pump components such as a backup heater, three-way valve, and expansion tank. The Combi Unit is an all-in-one product with a built-in 200-liter water tank, ideal for apartments or new homes where installation space is limited and a separate water tank would be difficult to place, enabling easy and unrestricted installation.
LG Electronics is also presenting water tank products that store water and supply it for heating or domestic use. The company previously acquired OSO, a European premium hot water solution company, to enhance synergies with its HVAC systems. At this exhibition, visitors can experience LG Electronics' integrated residential heat pump solution, which combines outdoor units, indoor units, and water tanks for a complete synergy.
LG Electronics is also unveiling differentiated HVAC solutions for large commercial spaces and industrial facilities at this event. In the large-capacity system air conditioner (VRF) solution zone, visitors can see "LG MultiV i," which leads the commercial system air conditioner market. LG MultiV i provides optimal air conditioning for commercial buildings and large facilities where precise temperature management and integrated control are essential. With a high-efficiency inverter compressor and AI-based smart control system, it saves energy and applies the R32 refrigerant, which has a global warming potential about 30% that of conventional R410A refrigerant.
In addition, the company is introducing the "LG ACP i," an HVAC control solution that allows multiple air conditioners to be managed conveniently as a single system. This cloud-based central controller enables real-time monitoring and control. Users can easily connect and control the system by scanning a QR code displayed on the 2.4-inch LCD screen with their smartphone, with no extra settings required.
In the chiller solution zone, LG Electronics is presenting the "Inverter Scroll Chiller (ISC)," a commercial HVAC solution that combines high-efficiency refrigeration technology with precise control, and is introducing the LG Chiller Total Solution, which integrates cooling, circulation, air conditioning, and control into a single system.
LG Electronics’ chiller lineup, including the Inverter Scroll Chiller on display, consists of ▲Oil-Free Inverter Turbo Chiller ▲Screw Chiller ▲Absorption Chiller and more. The company is expanding business opportunities not only in large commercial spaces but also in industrial/power generation sectors and future business areas such as AI data centers.
