Gijang-gun, Busan Expands Agricultural Machinery Rental Program... "Reducing Farmers' Burden and Enhancing Safety"
Integrated Parcel Delivery and Proxy Operation Services
Replacement of Outdated Equipment and On-site Training
Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jongbok) is set to fully implement an agricultural machinery rental program to reduce the labor burden on farmers and create a safer farming environment.
On March 23, Gijang-gun announced that it will operate an integrated support system that combines parcel delivery services and farm work proxy services, with a focus on agricultural machinery rental. To this end, the county will invest a total of 200 million won this year to gradually replace outdated rental machinery. It also plans to expand delivery services for rented equipment and provide proxy operation services to alleviate the farming burden of elderly farmers, small-scale farms, and women in agriculture.
Any farmer residing in Gijang-gun and engaged in farming activities is eligible to apply for the program. Detailed information can be found on the Gijang-gun Agricultural Machinery Rental Project website and at the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office of the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center.
In addition, training programs aimed at preventing agricultural machinery accidents will be further strengthened. Hands-on training sessions for general farmers will be held six times from September to November, while two customized sessions will be provided specifically for women in agriculture. Preliminary safety training for new users will take place twice a month on Friday afternoons.
In the second half of the year, the county also plans to provide on-site guidance on self-maintenance and management of agricultural machinery through the "Visiting Mobile Repair Training," which will tour 10 villages in the eup and myeon regions.
An official from the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center stated, "The agricultural machinery rental program is a core service that enhances both safety and efficiency for farmers. Through field-oriented support, we aim to create changes that farmers can truly experience."
