Gijang County in Busan to Conduct Comprehensive Inspection of Address Information Facilities... Enhancing Both Safety and Convenience
Inspection of Over 24,000 Facilities by June
Enhancing Maintenance Efficiency with Smart System
Gijang County will conduct a comprehensive inspection of address information facilities to improve the convenience of using road name addresses and to prevent safety accidents.
On March 19, Gijang County announced that it will carry out a full-scale survey of address information facilities within the region by June. Address information facilities, such as road name signs and building number plates, provide location information and play a crucial role in navigation and emergency response.
The scope of this survey includes a total of 24,609 facilities, consisting of 5,800 road name signs and 16,000 building number plates. The county plans to focus on inspecting the facilities on-site, checking for any damage, safety issues, and the appropriateness of their installation locations.
This year, Gijang County will introduce the next-generation Smart Address Information Management System (KAIS) to further increase the accuracy and speed of the survey. The system enables real-time registration of facility photos and inspection details from the field, allowing for more systematic management.
Based on the survey results, the county will immediately address urgent issues such as the risk of falling objects. Facilities that are damaged or contain labeling errors will be repaired or replaced. In addition, the locations of inappropriately placed facilities will be adjusted to improve user convenience.
Furthermore, old building number plates that have been in place for over 10 years will be replaced in stages. Road name signs will also be additionally installed on roads, alleys, and intersections where address information facilities are lacking.
