Everland's "Star Lecturer Teacher Sik" Video Surpasses 600,000 Views
600,000 Views for First Episode in Just One Week
SNS Plant Content Revamped with Online Lecture Concept
Tulip Festival Kicks Off on March 20
The Everland Resort division of Samsung C&T Corporation has seen its official social network service (SNS) content, “Dr. Flowerwind” Season 3, particularly the “Star Lecturer Teacher Sik (Plant Teacher)” video, surpass 600,000 views within just one week of its release, drawing significant attention.
On March 19, Everland announced that since 2021, it has been introducing the “Dr. Flowerwind” video series to enhance understanding of “plants”—one of its core offerings alongside animals, attractions, and performances—and to expand communication with customers.
In the videos, “Dr. Flowerwind” is the alter ego of Lee Junkyu, Head of the Plant Content Group at Everland, who oversees all plant-related content. Lee is an expert who holds a Ph.D. in landscape architecture from the Writtle School of Design at the University of Essex in the UK. Earlier this year, he was also selected as a “Maestar,” a title awarded to the top in-house expert.
While Season 1 in 2021 focused on plant introductions, care methods, and the history of gardens, Season 2 in 2024 incorporated more entertainment elements to deliver plant stories in a friendlier manner. Distinctive content such as rap and dance to promote the Rose Festival and introducing hydrangeas while getting soaked with water balloons has attracted considerable interest.

For this spring’s Season 3, Everland revamped the content format and launched “Star Lecturer Teacher Sik,” an online lecture-style series targeting Millennials & Gen Z. In the first video, released on March 12, Lee Junkyu wrote on the blackboard with chalk and explained the etymology of tulips and the origins of the Everland Tulip Festival for about 10 minutes. The series stands out for blending seriousness with humor through its lecture-style approach.
The second video, to be released on March 19, will provide an accessible explanation of the history of tulips, the principles behind their blooming, and the features of the tulip garden. Everland plans to continue producing two to three episodes of “Star Lecturer Teacher Sik” each month, reflecting customer questions and topics of interest submitted via comments. Additionally, the plant community is being managed through the Naver Café “Ever Plantopia,” with participation from various experts.
Meanwhile, Everland will hold the “Tulip Festival” from March 20 to April 30. Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy approximately 1.2 million spring flowers—over 100 varieties, including tulips, daffodils, and muscari. Various programs will also be offered, such as renewed Safari World content, fireworks shows, and circus performances.
