Korean Standards Association to Support Introduction of 4.5-Day Workweek and Improvement of Comprehensive Wage System
Launch of the “2026 Workplace Innovation and Win-Win Consulting Project”
Customized Consulting Support for 21 Tasks Across 10 Key Areas
The Korean Standards Association announced on March 18 that it has been selected as the implementing agency for the “2026 Workplace Innovation and Win-Win Consulting Project” promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and has begun recruiting participating companies.
The Workplace Innovation and Win-Win Consulting Project is designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises respond to rapidly changing labor environments by supporting improvements in HR and labor management systems as well as organizational innovation. The government assists companies with HR and labor issues, such as productivity improvement and work-life balance for employees, enabling many companies to receive professional consulting services from experts without incurring costs.
This year’s project will be carried out in line with changes in the labor market environment and business management trends, focusing on 21 improvement tasks across 10 areas, including: ▲ improvement of working hours systems ▲ restructuring of wage systems ▲ employee participation and cooperation ▲ job-based HR management ▲ organizational culture improvement ▲ establishment of labor-management cooperation systems, among others.
In particular, this year, special focus areas have been selected in accordance with the government’s policy direction, including: ▲ introduction of a 4.5-day work week ▲ improvement of the comprehensive wage system ▲ enhancement of labor-management partnership. The association plans to provide customized consulting that reflects each company's management environment and organizational characteristics, leveraging its nationwide expert network. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the “Workplace Innovation Consulting Platform” operated by the Korea Labor Foundation, the lead organization.

Moon Dongmin, President of the Korean Standards Association, stated, “The Workplace Innovation and Win-Win Consulting Project is not just about improving systems, but is an organizational innovation program that simultaneously enhances companies’ productivity and organizational competitiveness. The association plans to provide practical consulting services that can be immediately applied in the field, such as improving working hours systems and establishing job-based HR systems.”
