KIAT to Hold Regional Briefings for Industrial Technology International Cooperation Program
Regional Briefings Across Five Areas from March 16 to 24, Starting in Chungcheong Region
The Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), led by President Byungjoo Min, announced on March 16 that it will hold regional briefings for the "2026 Industrial Technology International Cooperation Program," which supports joint research and development (R&D) between domestic academia, industry, research institutions, and leading overseas research organizations. The integrated briefings will be held sequentially from March 16 to March 24 across five regions: Chungcheong, Honam, Seoul Metropolitan Area, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, and Southeast Region.
The Industrial Technology International Cooperation Program is divided into several types according to the form of joint R&D: ▲ a bilateral joint funding type, in which both governments agree and jointly provide funds; a multilateral joint funding type, which utilizes European R&D support programs; and a strategic technology type, which promotes technology cooperation between leading overseas research organizations and domestic companies.
There will also be information provided about the Global Industry Technology Cooperation Center (GITCC) program. This program aims to establish cooperation bases at leading overseas research institutions to support technology development by domestic academia, industry, and research bodies, and leverages these bases to identify mid- to long-term and large-scale projects and support joint R&D. The briefings will proceed in the order of introducing the purpose of the Industrial Technology International Cooperation Program, explaining details of each project, and conducting on-site Q&A sessions. Information on the event schedule, venue, and detailed descriptions of the program can be found on the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) website.
