Munsan Central Hospital Marks One Year of 'thynC' with Daewoong Pharmaceutical... 24-Hour Patient Monitoring Enhanced
Munsan Central Hospital, in collaboration with Daewoong Pharmaceutical, has further strengthened patient safety based on a year of operational experience after becoming the first medical institution in the Seoul and Gyeonggi region to introduce the smart bed monitoring system 'thynC'.
According to Daewoong Pharmaceutical on March 17, Munsan Central Hospital implemented the thynC system early, in December 2024, to enhance the psychological stability of patients and caregivers and to establish a more advanced medical response system. This was the second-fastest adoption in Korea, making it significant as a proactive response to the rapidly changing medical environment and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI)-based healthcare trends. Currently, thynC is operating reliably across a total of 60 beds, and on-site experience and operational know-how are being rapidly accumulated.

The hospital focused on thynC, which enables continuous monitoring based on AI technology, to minimize gaps in patient care that may occur during medical examinations and nursing processes. Through the system, major vital signs of patients are collected and analyzed in real time, with immediate alerts provided to medical staff if any abnormal signs are detected, allowing for quicker medical interventions and emergency responses. In addition, the use of wireless wearable devices enhances patient mobility and provides greater psychological reassurance to caregivers.
Over the year since introducing thynC, Munsan Central Hospital has observed particularly notable changes in patient management during night and early morning hours, when medical staff is limited. Previously, medical staff checked patients’ vital signs and conditions by making rounds at set intervals, which sometimes made it difficult to detect subtle changes that occurred between rounds. After the introduction of thynC, vital signs from all 60 beds can be monitored in real time, 24 hours a day, from a central monitor, significantly improving patient management efficiency.
Yoo Hwanyeol, Chairman of Munsan Central Hospital, stated, "In line with the rapidly changing medical landscape of the AI era, Munsan Central Hospital is actively embracing digital healthcare technology and applying it effectively in actual clinical settings. We will continue our research to enhance the quality of medical care and build a patient-centered smart medical environment."
