Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital and Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency Collaborate on Biopharmaceutical Research

View original imageHwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on March 16 that the Biomedical Research Institute and the Biopharmaceutical Division of Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency recently signed a memorandum of understanding for research collaboration in the biomedical field at the video conference room on the third floor of the hospital's Future Medical Innovation Center.
The signing ceremony was attended by Injae Oh, Director of the Biomedical Research Institute at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital; Sanghee Cho, Director of the Clinical Trial Center; Jaesook An, Head of the Biomedical Research Department; Soowoong Yoo, Head of the Research Planning Department; and Professor Hyungseok Kim. From Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency, Dongnam Seo, Head of the Biopharmaceutical Division; Jieun Lee, Kyungho Lee, and Sinjeong Park, all directors, participated. Oilwoong Oh, Director at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, was also present.
This agreement was established to strengthen research capabilities in the biomedical field and to build a foundation for non-clinical validation research through exchanges and cooperation between the two organizations.
Under the agreement, both organizations will conduct joint research to establish guidelines for tissue cross-reactivity testing based on Korean human biological resources, and will expand research exchanges for building an artificial organ-based drug screening system as an alternative to animal testing.
They also plan to establish a cooperative framework to accelerate new drug development in the biomedical field and to further strengthen related research collaboration.
Dongnam Seo, Head of the Biopharmaceutical Division at Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "By combining the research capabilities of both organizations, we will expand research collaboration in the biopharmaceutical field and achieve tangible results. Through increased exchange with Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, which has excellent clinical trial infrastructure and abundant human biological resources, we aim to unlock new possibilities."
Injae Oh, Director of the Biomedical Research Institute at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, remarked, "Through this agreement, we will strengthen the foundation for cooperation in non-clinical research and new drug development, and further enhance our competitiveness in biomedical research."
