First Anniversary of "Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi Platform" Introduction... Usage Surges by 44%
Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation Marks First Anniversary of Voucher Taxi Service for Transportation-Disadvantaged Groups
Expanding Mobility Support as a Supplement to Special Transportation Means and Reducing Financial Burden on Local Governments
Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation announced that, to mark the first anniversary of the voucher taxi service for transportation-vulnerable individuals, it has introduced the "Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi Platform." This move has improved the operational efficiency and user convenience of mobility support services for transportation-disadvantaged groups.

It is a project that enables transportation-vulnerable individuals—such as non-wheelchair users with disabilities and pregnant women—to utilize standard taxis for their travel needs.
As the operator of the Gyeonggi Province Special Transportation Means Metropolitan Mobility Support Center, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation participated in a pilot project for the "Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi" in Uiwang City in January of last year. This initiative was part of efforts to establish an integrated management system for voucher taxi services individually operated by cities and counties within the province.
The corporation, in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province and the platform operator, planned and established the voucher taxi platform to manage all operational processes—including user management, dispatch, and settlement—through a system.
In particular, the introduction of an automated settlement system based on the platform has enabled rapid and accurate settlement and payment to both corporate and individual taxi operators.
Previously, city and county mobility support centers would independently secure budgets and build separate systems to operate their services. However, with the introduction of the Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi Platform, they can now provide services without the need to establish separate systems.
This has alleviated the financial and administrative burdens of city and county mobility support centers and enhanced the operational efficiency of mobility support services for transportation-vulnerable individuals.
In the case of Uiwang City, which serves as a real-world example, the number of voucher taxi rides reached a total of 11,815 last year. During the same period, the number of rides using special transportation means decreased, indicating that conditions for special transportation services for wheelchair users have also improved.
Furthermore, the total number of rides for all mobility support services—including both special transportation means and voucher taxis—increased from 17,030 in 2024 to 24,510 in 2025, an approximate 44% rise, indicating a significant expansion in the use of mobility support services for transportation-disadvantaged individuals.
This year as well, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation plans to continue holding meetings with city and county mobility support centers to share operational achievements and best practices of the Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi Platform. The corporation also aims to expand participation from cities and counties that have not yet introduced voucher taxis, thereby gradually scaling up the Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi project.
Jaeman Park, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, stated, "The Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi is an important mobility support service that supplements special transportation means while enhancing the mobility rights of transportation-vulnerable individuals. Moving forward, we will continue to improve the efficiency of mobility support services for transportation-disadvantaged groups through data-driven operational analysis and collaboration with cities and counties, and will consistently promote the expansion of the Gyeonggi-Style Voucher Taxi."
