Cheongyeon Selected as Featured App for International Women's Day on the App Store
Reducing the Burden of Housework, Supporting Work-Life Balance
Women Account for 65% of All Customers
Life Research Institute announced on March 11 that its lifecare platform "Cheongyeon" (Cheongso Research Institute, Cheongyeon Care) has been selected as the featured app for this year's International Women's Day on the Apple App Store.
Apple selected "Cheongyeon" as the featured app for International Women's Day, introducing it as "a lifecare platform redefining the value of domestic labor and building social infrastructure."
Since its launch in 2017, Cheongyeon has reduced the burden of housework through cleaning services and supported work-life balance. Women account for 65% of all customers, and the platform has achieved a cumulative 14 million matches and 4.65 million app downloads to date, reflecting high usage rates among female customers.
Additionally, Cheongyeon recruits professional domestic service personnel known as "Managers," contributing to increased employment among middle-aged and older women. Currently, there are 200,000 registered managers, with 70% in their 50s and 60s. Any woman aged 29 to 74 can apply to be a manager, with the flexibility to choose their working hours and locations.
Cheongyeon provides systematic job training to develop managers as professionals and offers welfare benefits such as an annual win-win support fund of up to 2.8 million won and the "Ddeunddeun Membership" system for managers. The aim is to provide standardized services for customers by professionalizing domestic labor.
Life Research Institute also implements work-life balance programs for its employees. It has eased employees’ burdens related to housework and childcare by providing up to 300,000 won in monthly house cleaning points and 200,000 won in childcare support for daycare centers. Notably, women make up 73.2% of all staff, and in recognition of its contributions to creating jobs for women and promoting work-life balance, the company received the Prime Minister's Award in the Model Women Entrepreneurs category at the "2025 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards" last year.
Recently, the company launched the "Cheongyeon Care" senior daily care service, expanding beyond house cleaning to become a comprehensive lifecare platform. By offering specialized elderly care training to interested managers, Cheongyeon plans to broaden the scope of activities and strengthen the capabilities of its female workforce.
