The inspection team followed the actual routes students use to go to school, directly checking walking paths, sections traversed by construction vehicles, crosswalks, and the status of safety facilities, assessing potential risk factors along the way.
This road check was carried out to directly ensure student commuting safety on-site, based on the conviction that students' right to a safe commute must be upheld without compromise, even during the redevelopment construction process.
On this day, not only city officials but also parents and school representatives participated in the site inspection, sharing the risks and inconveniences experienced during the actual commuting process. The participants brainstormed together at the site, exchanging various opinions on ways to ensure students can travel to and from school more safely.
The inspection paid particular attention to the safety of pedestrian paths near construction sites, whether student and construction vehicle routes are separated, the operation status of crosswalks and traffic controllers, the installation of pedestrian safety facilities such as safety fences and guardrails, and areas where visibility is blocked or collision risks exist.
The city plans to make immediate improvements to issues identified on-site wherever possible, and for matters requiring further review, will develop follow-up measures through consultation with relevant departments.
