Gyeonggi Province Connects the System Semiconductor Ecosystem... Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Forum Held
On March 5, Gyeonggi Province held the "Gyeonggi-do System Semiconductor Industry Linked Cooperation Forum" at Gravity Josun Seoul Pangyo to strengthen the competitiveness of the system semiconductor (non-memory semiconductor) industry. At the forum, representatives from industry, academia, and research institutes discussed ways to enhance collaboration.
The forum was organized as part of the "Gyeonggi-do Fabless Demand-Linked Mass Production Support Project."
The initiative was launched to respond to the rapidly changing semiconductor industry environment, including the spread of on-device artificial intelligence (AI) that operates directly on devices like smartphones rather than on servers or the cloud. It also aims to foster talent in system semiconductor design and strengthen the foundation for technical cooperation among industry, academia, research institutes, and government.

After the forum, there was active networking among attendees, along with substantive discussions on practical collaboration between companies, universities, and research institutes.
Gyeonggi Province plans to use this forum as an opportunity to continuously expand the network for industry-academia-research cooperation and to further strengthen policy support for technology development and talent cultivation to boost the competitiveness of the system semiconductor industry.
