Jeongeup City Steadily Prepares for the 2026 Gujeolcho Flower Festival
Jeongeup City has officially begun preparing for the successful hosting of the 19th Jeongeup Gujeolcho Flower Festival, confirming a range of new programs and measures to eradicate price gouging.
On March 4, Jeongeup City held the "2nd Jeongeup City Gujeolcho Festival Promotion Committee Meeting for 2026" at the Gujeolcho Conference Room in City Hall, where they discussed the basic plans and overall operation of the festival, now in its 19th year. The nationally renowned Gujeolcho Flower Festival is scheduled to take place over 11 days from October 8 to 18 at the Jeongeup Gujeolcho Provincial Garden and surrounding areas.
This year, Jeongeup City plans to not only offer spectacular views of high-quality Gujeolcho flowers but also significantly enhance rest areas and photo zones where visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery. In addition to the Gujeolcho Garden, the city will make full use of the four themed gardens—"Ripple," "Wildflower," "Participation," and "Pine Forest"—to provide visitors with even more diverse attractions and experiences in broad, comfortable spaces.
During the committee meeting, operational plans for approximately 40 programs across six categories were reviewed. The central lawn plaza will serve as the main stage for expanded performances and healing programs that maximize the sense of openness. Above all, this year’s festival will captivate visitors with a variety of new programs, including a celebrity talk concert on the theme of Gujeolcho and health, Gujeolcho tasting experiences, a mini garden expo featuring well-known gardening companies, a mobile plant clinic for houseplants, and a Gujeolcho counseling center.
Jeongeup City will also ensure that tourists can enjoy the festival with peace of mind when it comes to food options. In June, an evaluation event for food and products will be held to carefully select top-quality vendors. In addition, a pre-festival price negotiation will be conducted to prevent price gouging within the festival grounds. During the festival, a price gouging reporting center and a joint public-private sales evaluation team will be in constant operation to guarantee the highest quality, reasonable prices, and a diverse menu selection.
