Hoon Park, University of Seoul Professor, Appointed Chairman of Korea International Fiscal Association
Strengthening Academic and Policy Activities in the Field of International Taxation
Hoon Park, Professor of Taxation at the University of Seoul, has been appointed as the 21st Chairman of the Korea International Fiscal Association.
The Korea International Fiscal Association announced, "We held a regular general meeting and elected Professor Hoon Park as the new chairman." The term begins in March 2026.
Established in 1983, the Korea International Fiscal Association is the leading academic society in Korea specializing in international taxation and serves as the Korean branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). Founded in 1938, the IFA is the world's largest academic organization in the field of international taxation, with over 13,500 members across 70 branches in 116 countries.
Professor Park, who currently serves as Vice President for External Affairs at the University of Seoul, previously held positions such as Taxpayer Advocate (Director-level Open Position) at the National Tax Service, Non-standing Judge at the Tax Tribunal, and Chairperson of the Local Tax Development Committee at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. In 2023, he was awarded the Order of Service Merit, Red Stripes.

He stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that the Korea International Fiscal Association leads academic research and professional development in the field of international taxation," adding, "I will strive to represent the interests of Korea and promote academic advancement in the rapidly changing international tax environment."
