District Mayor Park said, "Once the tennis court is completed, you will be able to come to exercise, take a short rest in the garden, and greet your neighbors, enjoying a garden-style everyday sports space."
The project site is located on the lower slopes of Gwanaksan around San 85-19, Sillim-dong, which was formerly an illegally cultivated area. A total of 2.1 billion won will be invested to create two tennis courts (1,539 square meters), a garden terrace, and convenience facilities such as a management office and restrooms. The tennis courts will be arranged in a terraced layout that follows the existing topography, while unused spaces will be landscaped as green areas that reflect seasonal scenery, transforming the area into a multi-purpose leisure space that combines nature, sports, and garden culture. Completion is targeted for June this year.
Since launching the Gwanaksan Park 24 Project with the Nakseongdae Forest Park in 2022, the district has completed the creation of a total of 20 specialized parks to date. This year, it plans to complete the hub parks in the Nanhyang Forest Trail area and the Gwaneumsa area of Gwanaksan, the vertical garden in the Shinwoo area, and the hydrangea garden in the Yaksuam area, thereby bringing the project to a close.
