Volvo Cuts Prices of Electric SUVs "EX30" and "EX30 CC" by Up to 7.61 Million Won
Price Cuts Start Next Month... Options Remain Intact
Expanding EV Adoption and Enhancing Customer Accessibility
Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 20th that starting next month it will cut the selling prices of its electric SUVs, the EX30 and EX30 Cross Country (CC), by up to 7.61 million won. The move comes amid a rapidly spreading trend of electric vehicle price reductions.
Volvo Cars Korea stated, "This price reduction was decided after close consultations with our headquarters to lead the popularization of the electric vehicle market and to help more customers experience Volvo's sustainable mobility." The company explained that the entry trim EX30 Core has been set at an aggressive price point in the 30 million won range, dramatically lowering the barrier to entry in the premium imported electric vehicle market.
The EX30 Core trim has been reduced from the previous 47.52 million won by 7.61 million won to 39.91 million won (based on eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits) . The EX30 Ultra trim and EX30 CC Ultra trim have each been reduced by 7 million won and are now sold at 44.79 million won and 48.12 million won, respectively.
In addition to the price cuts, customers can also benefit from electric vehicle subsidies. Reflecting the expected electric vehicle subsidy based on the Seoul Metropolitan Government standard, the EX30 Core trim and Ultra trim are eligible for a subsidy of 3.21 million won, allowing customers to purchase them at 36.70 million won and 41.58 million won, respectively. The EX30 CC Ultra trim is eligible for a subsidy of 2.88 million won, bringing its effective purchase price to 45.24 million won.
Notably, Volvo Cars Korea has lowered the official retail prices while keeping the top-level options unchanged.
The EX30 and EX30 CC are models that, despite their compact size, are equipped with flagship-level safety technologies and convenience features. The EX30 is configured with a 66 kWh NCM battery and a rear-wheel-drive single motor extended single powertrain. With motor output of 272 horsepower and maximum torque of 35.0 kg.m, it accelerates from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Its driving range on a single charge is 351 km on the combined cycle, and depending on driving conditions, the actual range can reach up to 400 km.
The EX30 CC is configured with a 66 kWh NCM battery and a twin motor performance single powertrain with all-wheel drive (AWD) combining two motors. Positioned as a model that delivers even more powerful performance and driving pleasure, it offers motor output of 428 horsepower and maximum torque of 55.4 kg.m, enabling it to accelerate from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
