"Supplements with Cost-Effectiveness": Baemin B Mart Launches Four 5,000-Won Flat-Price Supplements with Dong-A Pharmaceutical
Four Types: Vitamins, Omega-3, Lutein, and Probiotics
Wellness Consumption Trends Pursuing Small Volumes and Cost-Effectiveness
January Transaction Value in the Health Category Up 25% Month-on-Month
Baemin B Mart has launched four value-for-money health functional foods ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays.
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 12th that it has collaborated with Dong-A Pharmaceutical to exclusively launch four types of "5,000-won essential supplements" on B Mart.
In this era of high inflation, the company adopted a "cost-effectiveness" strategy that secures both price and quality, collaborating with Dong-A Pharmaceutical to increase reliability while easing the price burden by setting a flat price of 5,000 won.
The four supplements newly launched are as follows: "Multivitamin" for basic health management; "Lutein Zeaxanthin" for eye health; "rTG Omega-3" to help improve blood circulation; and "Probiotics" for intestinal health and immune function (each in a one-month supply).
This collaboration was planned to reflect the rapidly growing wellness consumption trend within Baemin B Mart. In January, the transaction value of the health and diet management category on B Mart increased by 25% compared to the previous month. The purchasing area is expanding from simply buying ingredients to purchasing for health management.
The recession-driven consumption trend favoring small volumes and cost-effectiveness is also continuing. Women aged 25 to 34 accounted for 79% of all buyers and formed the core customer base for health functional foods on B Mart. A high proportion of customers were found to purchase health functional foods together while grocery shopping and to repurchase small-volume products.
In the case of the small-volume themed promotion held by B Mart last summer (from August 27 to September 9), the transaction value increased by more than 20% compared to the previous week. During the promotion held for the Chuseok holidays last year, the transaction value rose by 146% compared to the previous week.
According to the "2024 Processed Food Consumer Attitude Survey," the top factor consumers check first when purchasing health functional foods is the brand or manufacturer, followed by price in second place. Baemin B Mart plans to strengthen its product lineup by reinforcing partnerships with verified brands.
