Three Winners Selected for the 3rd Digital Journalism Innovation Awards
Online Newspaper Association Names The Dong-A Ilbo for Digital Content Grand Prize
Seoul Economic Daily and Maekyung AX Win Service and Business Grand Prize
The Korea Online Newspaper Association (Chairman Park Hak-yong) announced on the 12th that it had selected three winning entries for the 3rd Digital Journalism Innovation Awards.
In the Digital Content category, the grand prize went to The Dong-A Ilbo's "Omission: Is Your Apartment Safe?". The award recipients are Gu Teukgyo, Kim Suhyun, Lee Moonsoo, Joo Hyunwoo, and Wi Eunji (reporting), Lim Sangah and Lim Heerae (developer), Jung Sieun (creative director), Hong Jinhwan (photography), and Kim Jihui (producer), for a total of 10 people.
In the Digital Service and Business category, the grand prize is shared by the Seoul Economic Daily's "AI LINK" and Maekyung AX's "AI HUB". The award recipients are four people from the Future Strategy Department of the Seoul Economic Daily, including Woo Seungho, Kang Dowon, Moon Younggwang, and Sung Yehyun, who built the AI journalism ecosystem called "AI LINK", and eight people who contributed to Maekyung AX's "AI HUB": Yoo Younghoon and Shin Hyeji (AI Data Department), Lee Dongwoo and Chu Gyoyoon (Development Department), and Park Eunju, Lee Sungyeon, Shin Myeonghwa, and Min Jihye (DM Strategy and Planning Department).
Professor Yoo Hongsik of Chung-Ang University, who served as head of the judging committee, said, "The number of entries that combine digital technology and journalism to expand reader experience is growing every year, raising expectations," adding, "This year's entries in the content category demonstrated the evolution of digital journalism, while the works in the service and business category presented a future direction for the media industry through various innovations such as platform building, revenue model experimentation, and global expansion."

Each grand prize winner in the respective categories will receive a plaque and prize money of 5 million won. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 25 at the press conference room on the 19th floor of the Korea Press Center in Taepyeong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul.
