In the first session in the morning, about 30 participants, including officials from Yangju-si, experts in culture, arts, and tourism, and heads of related organizations, attended a public-private one-team roundtable to discuss cooperation measures.
The event was attended by experts such as Yeom Singyu, Director of the Korea Cultural Policy Research Institute, Kim Sungha, CEO of the Seo-gu Cultural Foundation in Incheon, and Park Sangheon, CEO of the Yeongwol Culture and Tourism Foundation, who offered recommendations on strategic responses that local governments should take in light of changes in cultural tourism policy.
In addition, Yangju-si shared its major projects in the field of cultural tourism with the heads of related organizations and facilities, and gathered a wide range of on-site opinions on development strategies to build Yangju as a cultural tourism city.
In the second session in the afternoon, capacity-building training was conducted for about 30 staff members of the Culture and Tourism Division, focusing on a special lecture by an expert on cultural tourism branding and group discussions.
Choo Migyeong, head of the incorporated association Culture Daum, who delivered the special lecture, presented strategies for building a cultural tourism brand based on the region's unique identity, thereby enhancing understanding of the brand direction that Yangju-si should pursue.
In the subsequent group discussions, experts in each field worked together to derive brand directions for the four key strategic projects: regional culture, regional tourism, cultural spaces, and historical culture.
Yangju-si plans to actively reflect the opinions and strategic projects derived from this workshop in its 2026 cultural tourism policies and major projects.
