Busan Gijang County Fully Launches Operation of "Public Late-Night Children's Hospital"
Eliminating Gaps in Pediatric Care on Nights and Holidays
Establishing a One-Stop System Linking Hospitals and Pharmacies
Gijang County in Busan announced on the 4th that, starting in February, it will fully implement the "Public Late-Night Children's Hospital Support Program" to fill the gap in pediatric care during nighttime and holiday hours.
This program was introduced in response to on-site calls for more medical institutions where pediatric patients can receive treatment late at night or on holidays. A key feature is the establishment of a one-stop late-night medical system that allows patients to receive their medications in one go by linking treatment with a partner pharmacy.
Through a public call, Gijang County selected Jeonggwan Woori Children's Hospital as a medical institution capable of providing pediatric and adolescent care, and Woori Onnuri Pharmacy as a partner pharmacy capable of dispensing prescriptions. At the opening ceremony of the public late-night children's hospital held on January 31, the county officially launched the project by presenting designation certificates to the hospital and the pharmacy.
Jung Jongbok, Gijang County Governor, said, "By supporting the operation of the public late-night children's hospital, we have created an environment where children can safely receive medical treatment even at night," adding, "We will continue to work to expand medical welfare services that residents can truly feel."
