Burger King is launching two new products, "The Crisper," on January 29, featuring an enhanced crispy texture for its chicken patties. This new release is a renewal of the "Crisper," which was first introduced in Korea in April last year as the first launch in Asia. The upgraded version further enhances the patty's signature crispy exterior and moist interior.
The Crisper, introduced last year, surpassed 2 million cumulative units sold within just three months of its launch, proving its competitiveness in the chicken burger market by driving sales across Burger King's entire chicken burger menu. Burger King plans to expand its dominant competitive edge from the beef patty market into the chicken burger sector through the Crisper platform.
The name "The Crisper" was chosen to emphasize the product's even crispier texture and distinctive presence. True to its name, the product focuses on the essence of texture-crispiness-by using a 100% whole chicken breast patty coated with Burger King's exclusive powder mix. A tumbling process is applied to create a curled batter, resulting in an upgraded, extra-crispy texture.
In particular, Burger King's exclusive powder mix, which blends flour, corn starch, and rice flour in optimal proportions, is combined with "crust crumb," a wafer-thin layered crust, to deliver an overwhelming crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside experience that surpasses previous products.
Additionally, Burger King's unique "spice marinade," a blend of various seasonings, enhances the spicy flavor, while a savory house mayo sauce and fresh tomatoes elevate the overall taste. The "The Crisper Bacon & Cheese," also being launched, features smoky bacon and rich cheese for a deeper and more robust flavor profile.
Actress Roh Yoonseo, who played a key role in the successful launch of the original Crisper, returns to the forefront for the renewal campaign. With the slogan "Crispier, The Crisper," Burger King aims to appeal to the tastes of Millennials & Gen Z by presenting a distinctive retro and stylish tone and manner.
