Patrick Reed (USA) has not finalized a new season contract with LIV Golf.
At the official press conference immediately after his victory at the DP World Tour Dubai Desert Classic held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 25th (local time), Reed stated, "I have not yet completed a contract with LIV Golf," and added, "During this tournament, I focused solely on golf."

Reed's remarks have drawn attention as they come at a time when LIV Golf's position is becoming increasingly unstable. Brooks Koepka (USA), who played for LIV Golf, announced his departure from the league in December last year and returned to the PGA Tour through its reinstatement program. From 2022 to 2025, winners of the four major championships and The Players Championship, known as the "fifth major," can return to the PGA Tour without a break through this program until February 2 of this year.

However, Reed does not qualify for this. To return to the PGA Tour, he would have to serve a suspension and go through disciplinary procedures. LIV Golf will hold its season opener in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 4.
