Colombian President: "U.S. Immigration Authorities Acting Like Nazi Stormtroopers"
Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, stated on January 8 (local time) that the possibility of U.S. military action against his country has now become a real threat.
In an interview with the BBC on the same day, President Petro said, "Whether this threat can be eliminated depends on the ongoing discussions."
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of launching a military operation against Colombia after conducting airstrikes on Venezuela and arresting President Nicolas Maduro.
President Petro criticized the strengthening of immigration enforcement, saying that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents "are acting like Nazi stormtroopers."
