Cho Kyoil, Mayor of Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province, held the January session of the 'Date with Citizens' event by inviting around ten local elders from various fields to the Situation Room on the 5th floor of City Hall.
The 'Date with Citizens' event, held for the first time in the new year on January 8, 2026, was organized as an opportunity to listen to the experiences and wisdom of elders who have contributed to the region's history and development in areas such as education, culture, arts, and healthcare, and to envision the future of Jinju City together.

In response, Mayor Cho said, "I am deeply grateful to have this meaningful time with our esteemed elders in January, as we open the door to a hopeful new year," adding, "Your life experiences and wisdom are the most reliable guide for Jinju City as we move forward."
He continued, "The insights you shared today will serve as a solid foundation for managing city affairs in the new year. Going forward, we will actively reflect the valuable opinions of our elders in all areas of municipal administration, continuing to foster a communicative administration where experience and wisdom are truly alive."

Jinju City plans to gather and actively incorporate the opinions expressed by the elders during this meeting into city administration. The city also intends to further strengthen its communicative approach by listening directly to citizens on site, and to realize an administration that empathizes with and is shaped together with its citizens.
