Donghae City Expands Tourist Attraction Incentives from New Year... Up to 400,000 Won per Bus
Donghae City in Gangwon Province will officially launch its "Group Tourist Attraction Incentive Support Program" starting on New Year's Day, focusing on developing customized tourism products that utilize Donghae's unique sunrise tourism resources in line with evolving tourism trends. Applications and support for this program will be available from January 1, and the city plans to actively encourage travel agencies and group tourists to participate in sunrise tourism.
This incentive support program provides incentives based on the number of buses used. Groups with at least 20 passengers per bus are eligible for support, with 200,000 won provided per bus for same-day tours and 400,000 won per bus for overnight tours.
In addition, the tourism incentive program scheduled to be implemented from 2026 will expand its support to include small groups of tourists, unlike the program in the second half of 2025. In particular, Donghae City will introduce a new tourism incentive program linked to the issuance of "local exclusive cards" for small group visitors to the city.
The city expects that the local card-linked incentives will stimulate local spending by tourists and encourage repeat visits, leading to a continuous influx of tourists and revitalization of the local economy.
