Woori Bank Expands Senior Digital Learning Centers to 16 Locations
Five New Centers Established in Seoul and Gyeonggi Regions
Woori Bank announced that it has opened five additional branches of its integrated digital and information technology (IT) education space, 'WOORI Senior IT Happy Learning Center,' which was established to address digital exclusion among the elderly and to strengthen their capabilities.
The Happy Learning Center is now being operated at a total of 16 locations. This space is a digital education center for seniors, jointly operated by Woori Bank and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare's Senior Support Center. The newly established Happy Learning Centers are located in five regions: Yongsan, Yeongdeungpo, Seodaemun, Namyangju, and Uijeongbu. Woori Bank explained that by securing learning and experience spaces near welfare facilities and residential areas frequently used by the elderly, they have improved accessibility to digital education and made participation more convenient.
The Happy Learning Center is characterized by its field-oriented, experiential learning environment, where participants can directly handle and operate digital devices. Specifically, it is divided into the 'Smart Lounge,' where users can freely experience digital devices such as AI speakers, kiosks, and smart tables, and the 'Smart Learning Center,' where systematic education takes place.
In November, 33 outstanding seniors from existing Happy Learning Centers were selected to participate in a customized AI education and Seoul city tour program at the Myeong-dong Senior Plus Center.
