Goheung County Opens Permanent Exhibition of Cheon Kyungja's Works and Personal Belongings
Exhibition at Goheung Art Center Until December 31
Goheung County in South Jeolla Province announced that, inspired by the 10th anniversary remastered exhibition commemorating artist Cheon Kyungja, it will operate a permanent exhibition focused on Cheon Kyungja's works and personal belongings at the second-floor exhibition hall of Goheung Art Center until December 31.
The previously held remastered exhibition was the only solo exhibition in the country dedicated to commemorating the 10th anniversary of Cheon Kyungja's passing, and took place in her hometown of Goheung at the Goheung Art Center from October 1 to December 7.
Goheung County will operate a permanent exhibition focusing on the works and relics of artist Cheon Kyungja from December 17 to 31 at the second-floor exhibition hall of Goheung Art Center, inspired by the 10th anniversary remastered memorial exhibition of artist Cheon Kyungja. View original imageAccordingly, Goheung County has selected over 10 replica works, including Cheon Kyungja's representative color paintings such as <Gillyeonni>, <Saengtae>, and <Ah! Mujung>, for display. The exhibition also features more than 40 items provided by her family, including handwritten letters, postcards, and photographs, as well as media art pieces by artist Lee Lee-nam, bringing the total to over 50 works available for viewing in one place.
In addition, alongside this permanent exhibition on the second floor of Goheung Art Center, the first floor will host the 'Goheung Tourism National Photo Contest' exhibition, organized in collaboration with the local community, offering visitors a diverse cultural experience.
The permanent exhibition is open free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed every Monday.

An official from the county's Culture and Sports Division stated, "We hope that this permanent exhibition will allow more visitors to encounter Cheon Kyungja's artistic world in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to promote exhibitions and projects that inherit and expand upon Cheon Kyungja's works and artistic spirit."
