Kia Autoland Gwangju Achieves Highest 'Zero Waste to Landfill' Rating for Second Consecutive Year
'Zero Waste to Landfill' Verification Led by UL Solutions
Kia announced on December 17 that Autoland Gwangju has achieved the highest Platinum rating for the second consecutive year in the 'Zero Waste to Landfill' verification by UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science.
The Zero Waste to Landfill verification is a system that evaluates the level of waste resource circulation management. Depending on the recycling rate of waste generated at the workplace, there are three grades: Platinum (99.5%-100%), Gold (95%-less than 99.5%), and Silver (90%-less than 95%).
Kia Autoland Gwangju is undertaking various initiatives to establish a resource-efficient production system by recycling waste generated during processes. As a result of these efforts, it received the Platinum rating for the first time last year and successfully renewed it this year.
