KakaoBank Adds 'AI Group Treasurer' to Group Accounts
From Dues Management to Expenditure Analysis...
Enhanced Convenience Features for Group Management and Bulletin Board
KakaoBank has introduced the 'AI Group Treasurer' feature to make group accounts even more convenient to use. Since launching the 'Group Account' in 2018, the company has once again evolved the service to further enhance user convenience.
Launched in December 2018, KakaoBank's group account reached 12.2 million users and a balance of 10.5 trillion won as of the end of the third quarter this year, establishing itself as a leading group fund management service.
The newly released 'AI Group Treasurer' function quickly and accurately handles key tasks that treasurers previously managed manually. For example, when asked, "Who hasn't paid their dues this month?" the feature provides an organized summary of the total deposit amount, a list of unpaid members, the number of unpaid members, and the payment deadline. In addition to simple deposit and withdrawal checks, it elevates the level of group management by offering expenditure analysis by period and by merchant, consumption patterns, and insights. Not only the group leader but any group member can utilize the 'AI Group Treasurer' feature.
Along with this update, KakaoBank has completely revamped its UI and UX to launch a dedicated 'Group Account Home.' The interface, previously identical to that of regular checking accounts, has been reorganized to focus on group management, making it easier to see group activities at a glance. The newly added 'Group Management' section integrates features such as the 'AI Group Treasurer' and 'Group Bulletin Board,' and allows group members to set a chosen photo as the 'Group Home Cover Image,' adding an element of fun.
To celebrate this update, KakaoBank will hold an event from December 17 to January 6 next year. During the event period, 2,000 customers who complete both 'Visit the New Group Account Home' and 'Chat with the AI Group Treasurer' will be selected by lottery to receive either a 'hotel cake' (1,000 winners) or a 'group support fund of 50,000 won' (1,000 winners). In addition, every new group that opens a group account and invites at least one member during the event will receive a 'group start support fund' of 1,000 won as cashback, and an additional 500 groups will be randomly selected to receive a 'group support fund' of 50,000 won.
KakaoBank stated, "We have added AI-powered services and redesigned the home screen so that our group account, used by over 12 million customers, can be used more conveniently," adding, "Going forward, we plan to expand the application of AI to various financial products beyond group accounts, providing customers with a differentiated financial experience."
