This inspection was conducted to review the construction progress and safety management system ahead of the second phase of temporary openings, which will be carried out sequentially for each road starting at the end of the year, following the first phase of temporary openings at the end of October.
Mayor Lee traveled along Local Route No. 57, received an on-site briefing on the status of road construction and the progress of the industrial complex at the main access road, and then sequentially inspected the widening construction sections of Local Road No. 318 and Bogae-Wonsam-ro.
Mayor Lee stated, "Expanding transportation infrastructure is a key factor for the success of the industrial complex," and added, "We will do our utmost not only to develop the road network but also to establish a railway network."
In the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster area, the Namyongin Interchange on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway will open on the 23rd. Starting from the 31st, the expanded section of Local Road No. 318 will be sequentially opened as a four-lane road, and is scheduled to be fully expanded to six lanes by February 2027.
For the expansion of Local Route No. 57, two lanes of the 2.9 km section have already been opened, and the entire section will be expanded to four lanes by April next year.
The 1.8 km widened section of Bogae-Wonsam-ro, which connects National Road No. 17 and the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex, will also open from the 31st. However, the expansion work for one bridge section is scheduled to be completed by March next year.
