The 'Yuyu Campaign' carries the message, "YOU and even your acquaintances could be bereaved families," emphasizing that anyone could be related to the fallen. The campaign aims to revitalize the national project of locating the remains of over 120,000 soldiers who died in the Korean War but have not been recovered, and to honor them at the National Cemetery by matching them with their families through DNA testing.

The 'Yuyu Campaign' is open to all citizens of South Korea. After checking whether there are any unrecovered Korean War fallen soldiers within eight degrees of kinship on either the paternal or maternal side, participants can follow the instructions and provide a simple oral sample by rubbing a sponge swab inside the mouth at a nearby military unit, military or veterans hospital, Red Cross hospital, or public health center. Participants will receive a commemorative gift and health supplements upon sample collection, and if identified as a bereaved family member, a reward of 100,000 won will be given. If the identity of a Korean War fallen soldier is confirmed, a reward of 10 million won will be awarded to the family representative.
