Gangjin County Holds Regeneration Fair Utilizing Vacant Houses in Byeongyeong-myeon Until the 19th
Gangjin County in South Jeolla Province is operating the "Gangjin Vacant House Regeneration Fair," a local regeneration program utilizing empty houses in the Hangolmok-gil area of Byeongyeong-myeon. The event began on November 19 and will continue until December 19.
According to Gangjin County on December 8, the project, themed "A House Revived, A Village Reborn!" was designed to find a regeneration model suitable for Gangjin County through various projects utilizing abandoned vacant houses. As part of the Byeongyeong-myeon urban regeneration project, it is being implemented at 15 vacant houses and idle spaces in the village, transforming them into spaces where visitors can experience the region through policy promotion, local content experiences, and vacant house tours.
At the "Vacant House Regeneration Field Forum" held on December 3, more than 80 local government officials and residents from South Jeolla Province attended. So far, over 70 people have participated in the vacant house guided tours.

Jung Kyunghoon, a webtoon artist who took part in the Vacant House Artist Program, said, "It was an opportunity for me to learn about Gangjin, and as I got to know the village, it was a time to recharge. If given the chance, I would like to create works based on Byeongyeong as a subject."
