Gijang County Expands "Light Street" at Jeonggwan Witgol Park in Busan... Residents Respond to Enhanced Nighttime Scenery
Reborn as a Nighttime Attraction
with Windmill Lighting, Heart-Shaped Photo Zones, and Enhanced LED Displays
Gijang County (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on December 4 that the “Light Street Project” underway in the area around Jeonggwan Witgol Park has been significantly expanded this year, and the newly transformed nighttime scenery has received an enthusiastic response from local residents.
In addition to the existing installations such as trees and moon and heart-shaped sculptures, the county implemented several enhancements this year: ▲ new windmill-shaped landscape lighting ▲ a heart-shaped photo zone refurbished with floral decorations ▲ strengthened LED lighting around pine trees. These additions have created a more three-dimensional and emotionally engaging nighttime landscape.
Additional landscape lighting was also installed in the Hydrangea Garden, which was created in August, further enhancing the overall nighttime atmosphere of the park.
The expanded lighting has been naturally arranged along the park’s main pathways, allowing visitors to easily enjoy various photo zones and sculptures. As a result, the park is establishing itself as a “nighttime healing space” where residents can leisurely appreciate beautiful lights in their daily lives.
Currently, Witgol Park serves as a community park for walking and relaxation during the day, and transforms into an emotionally rich space adorned with illuminated sculptures and lights at night, continuously attracting residents.
The county plans to operate the park’s landscape facilities year-round, regardless of the season, and will introduce a variety of new features in connection with the Jagwangcheon Local Garden to develop the area into a regional attraction that offers sights to enjoy throughout all four seasons.
