The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on December 4 that it will hold the "TOPS of the Year" pop-up store event at the North Atrium of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, from December 5 to 7.
This pop-up store serves as a pre-event for the upcoming "TOPS AWARDS" ceremony scheduled for this month. It aims to increase public awareness and expand brand value by showcasing outstanding products from 30 small business owners who have advanced to the third stage of the TOPS program.
The TOPS program is a collaborative initiative between 10 private platforms and the government to discover and nurture promising small business brands with high growth potential. The program provides step-by-step support to over 3,000 small businesses. In the third stage, 30 final companies are selected to participate in special exhibitions on each platform, receive support for department store and home shopping connections, and compete in pitching contests.
The pop-up store will feature a total of 30 outstanding small business brands, including 6 in the general category, 12 in food, 6 in fashion, 3 in dining, and 3 in accommodation. The event space is organized into four themed showroom-style booths: ▲Food Zone ▲Fashion & Beauty Zone ▲Dining & Accommodation Zone ▲Food Experience Zone.
The Food Zone is designed as an open kitchen to display outstanding products, while the Fashion & Beauty Zone offers a dressing room and vanity area for visitors to try various products. The Dining & Accommodation Zone provides displays and video content that recreate the atmosphere of actual accommodation spaces. QR codes for each brand will be available on-site to enable online purchases.
Six ongoing events will also be held for visitors. Those who complete a stamp tour of the entire space will receive a souvenir, and customers who verify their purchase of TOPS products will be entered into a lucky draw. Various programs will also be offered, such as the "Closet Organization Challenge" and "Social Network Service (SNS) Visit Verification" events using TOPS products.
Special events include interactive beauty and fashion influencer programs, where influencers demonstrate makeup and styling using TOPS products. Makeup artist Sim Hwapyeong and fashion creator Park Esther will host shows on themes such as "Moist Radiant Makeup" and "Office Looks for Professionals."
