The event began with the screening of the 'Goyang EDU Introduction Video,' which outlined the key directions of the 2026 education policy, followed by a welcoming speech from the Director of the Department of Education and Culture, a policy briefing, a Q&A session, and discussions on current issues.
Parents responded positively, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to hear the city's policy directions directly and to share their opinions. They especially expressed strong trust in the city's proactive approach to addressing local educational issues.
Meanwhile, members of the School Management Committee conveyed perspectives from the school operations field that differed from those of the parents' association. They presented a variety of opinions from institutional and structural standpoints, including the need for improvements to the school environment, closing educational gaps, and ensuring transparency in the school district adjustment process. They also requested that the School Management Committee continue to participate as an institutional representative body in the policy discussion process.
Both groups expressed high expectations for the ongoing school district adjustment study in Deogyang-gu, which has recently drawn significant attention. Participants requested that citizens, parents, and schools all be able to participate and share their views in key procedures such as the kickoff briefing, given the importance of school district adjustments in shaping the direction of the local educational environment. The city responded by stating, "We will, of course, guarantee opportunities for participation and actively incorporate your feedback."
The city plans to carefully review the opinions and suggestions raised at these meetings by each department and take follow-up action. It also announced its intention to continuously strengthen its cooperative system with the two organizations to further enhance the quality of the 2026 Goyang-style future education policy.
