Seoul Office of Education Designates "Seoul Education Human Rights Week" Starting December 1
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has designated the two-week period from December 1 to December 15 as "Seoul Education Human Rights Week" in recognition of Human Rights Day (December 10).
This year's slogan is "Human Rights for All, Schools Connected by Respect," reflecting a commitment to making respect a core value in school operations and to fostering a democratic and equitable school culture.
The goal of this year's Seoul Education Human Rights Week is to enhance the substance of human rights education through the operation of multi-layered programs involving students, teachers and staff, and parents.
The main programs include: ▲ Promotion of Seoul Education Human Rights Week ▲ Special educational activities commemorating Human Rights Day ▲ Special lecture on human rights for all ("A Museum Where People Live") ▲ Publication of the Seoul Education Human Rights Week human rights letter ▲ "A School Without Discrimination, Creating Human Rights Stories Together" (Human Rights Talk with the Superintendent) ▲ "Heartfelt Dialogue" (Roundtable Discussion between the Superintendent and Student Human Rights Stakeholders), among others.
