Genian Selected as a "2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company"
Genian, a cybersecurity specialist company, announced on December 1 that it has been selected as one of the "2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Companies," an initiative hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The "2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Companies" program recognizes companies that set an example in promoting work-life balance for employees, such as implementing flexible work arrangements, reducing working hours, encouraging the use of annual leave, and supporting the combination of work and childcare. This year, a total of 183 companies were selected. Certified companies receive various benefits, including exemption from regular labor inspections, preferential treatment in government support programs, financial and interest rate benefits, and support for research personnel.
The selection process involved a document review and on-site inspections. Genian received high marks for its stable operation of flexible work systems, high annual leave usage rates, and efforts to improve organizational culture based on employee feedback.
Genian allows all employees to fully utilize flexible work arrangements, including remote work and staggered working hours. Departments can autonomously adjust staggered work hours according to their characteristics and work situations. The company also enables employees with children to flexibly manage their schedules for drop-off, pick-up, and medical appointments.
In recent years, Genian has maintained an annual leave utilization rate of over 95%, achieving approximately 98% last year. By allowing employees to use annual leave simply by registering it in Google Calendar, the company has created an environment where vacations can be taken freely without the burden of providing reasons or seeking approval. Since August this year, a half-day leave system has also been introduced, enabling employees to take leave according to their personal schedules.
To support employees' family lives, Genian actively encourages parental leave for all employees regardless of gender. On the third Friday of every month, the company operates a "Family Day" system, with employees working only in the morning. Every year on Children's Day, employees with underage children receive gift certificates, and the company continues to expand customized family-friendly welfare programs.
Genian is also expanding practical and effective welfare benefits that employees truly desire through regular satisfaction surveys and a labor-management council system.
Lee Dongbum, CEO of Genian, stated, "We have continuously improved the work environment with the mindset of growing together with our employees," adding, "I expect that this selection will create a positive cycle, not only increasing employee job satisfaction but also enhancing the company's image and attracting outstanding talent."
Genian is leading the spread of a people-centered organizational culture by obtaining various government certifications, including Family-Friendly Company, Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company, and Technology Innovation-Oriented Small and Medium Enterprise.
