Korea Federation of SMEs Donates 200 Million Won to National Cancer Center Development Fund
Supporting Cancer Prevention for Small Businesses and the Self-Employed
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 27th that it had donated 200 million won to the National Cancer Center Development Fund at the "Charity Night with the National Cancer Center" event to support cancer prevention and health promotion for small businesses and self-employed individuals.

View original imageThe two organizations agreed to cooperate on initiatives for members of the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid, including ▲ early cancer screening, ▲ linkage to medical treatment and follow-up care based on cancer screening results, and ▲ health promotion through cancer prevention education.
Kim Kimoon, President of the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "Many small businesses and self-employed individuals feel burdened by the cost of cancer screenings and treatment, or are excluded from medical benefits due to economic reasons. By partnering with the National Cancer Center, the most authoritative institution for cancer treatment in Korea, we are supporting the development fund so that small business owners and the self-employed can focus on their livelihoods in good health through cancer prevention and health promotion."

Meanwhile, since its launch in 2007, the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid has established itself as the most widely used social safety net for small businesses and the self-employed, with 1.85 million members. It provides free group accident insurance for two years, offering up to 150 million won in benefits when members face unexpected accidents.
