Kakao Pay Selected as a Work-Life Balance Excellent Company by Ministry of Employment and Labor
Fully Flexible Work Schedule, Sabbatical Leave, and Life Stage-Based Family-Friendly Support Programs Implemented
Kakao Pay announced on the 28th that it was selected on the 27th as one of the "2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Companies," an award organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Companies program recognizes companies that have demonstrated outstanding performance in areas such as flexible work arrangements, reduced working hours, use of leave, and balancing work and childcare to support employees' work-life balance. Selected companies receive benefits including exemption from regular labor inspections, preferential treatment in financial and government support programs, and favorable interest rates.
Kakao Pay has pursued innovation in its working methods to enhance both work engagement and quality of life for its employees.
The company has implemented a fully flexible work schedule, allowing employees to design their optimal working hours to maximize work engagement and productivity. The last Friday of every month is designated as "Refresh Day," a company-wide day off. Employees who have worked for three years are granted a 30-day paid sabbatical and a recharge allowance of 2 million won.
Tailored family-friendly support programs based on life stages have also been established. Kakao Pay offers various types of leave and support, including spousal prenatal checkup leave, adoption leave, parental leave (up to two years), and reduced working hours during school admission periods, all tailored to different life stages.
