"Resolution on Joint Response to Transnational Scam Compounds" Adopted at INTERPOL General Assembly
The National Police Agency announced on the 28th that a resolution on "Joint Response to Eradicate Transnational Scam Compounds" has been adopted.
The core of this resolution is to define transnational scam compounds as a common threat to the international community and to strengthen joint responses, including: ▲enhancing systems for sharing and analyzing criminal information, ▲implementing joint operations and cooperative investigations, and ▲establishing networks for victim protection and support.
Korea has established a close international cooperation network with law enforcement agencies of various countries. Last month, an official platform for joint response to scam compounds, called the "International Cooperation Council," was launched with participation from INTERPOL, ASEANAPOL, and eight countries. This month, an "International Cooperation Operations Meeting" was held in Seoul with INTERPOL, ASEANAPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and 16 countries taking part.

Yu Jaeseong, Acting Commissioner, stated, "The adoption of the resolution signifies that the world has resonated with Korea's proposal," adding, "We will continue to build a sustainable international cooperation system to fundamentally dismantle the ecosystem of scam compounds."
