The ultimate goal is to realize a city where people are born, grow up, work, get married, raise children, and spend their later years in Wonju.
The research involved in-depth interviews considering the 2040, 4050, and 6070 generations, as well as the new town area, old downtown, and rural regions. It also analyzed the basic policy environment of Wonju City and investigated successful and exemplary policy development cases from other local governments to draw policy implications.
The main policy directions presented by the research include: ▲Strengthening the growth environment for children and adolescents ▲Strategies for youth settlement and employment ▲Support for life transitions among the middle-aged ▲Expansion of social participation and care for the elderly ▲Improvement of transportation infrastructure common to all generations.
Wonju City plans to thoroughly review the generational needs and policy candidates identified through this meeting to develop effective specialized policies. In addition, it will gather citizens' opinions to derive concrete action plans that can be applied to actual city administration.
