Jokook Pays Respects at Jo Bongam's Grave: "Expanding Public Land Ownership Through Real Estate Policy"
On November 27, Jokook, Representative of the Jokook Innovation Party, visited the Mangwoo Historical Park in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, to pay respects at the grave of Jo Bongam, also known as Juksan.
After the visit, Representative Jo held an on-site Supreme Council meeting and stated, "Juksan implemented land reform during the Syngman Rhee administration, overcoming fierce opposition from pro-Japanese landowners." He added, "It was a decisive move to transform land from a source of unearned income for the privileged class into a means of production essential to the lives of the majority-farmers."
He continued, "The Innovation Party will carry on the legacy of land reform through the concept of public land ownership," and pledged, "We will expand this concept to encompass all real estate policies and broaden the right to housing."
He further stated, "Juksan advocated for a society where everyone prospers through national health coverage, free education, and the implementation of social security systems. This forms the foundation of the Innovation Party's vision of a 'social rights advanced nation.' The Innovation Party will follow in Juksan's footsteps."
