Smilegate announced on November 26 that it will restructure its management system into an integrated corporation effective January 1 next year.
Accordingly, the three main entities-Smilegate Holdings, Smilegate Entertainment, and Smilegate RPG-will be merged into a single company. The integrated corporation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is expected to be Seong Junho, the current CEO of Smilegate Holdings (pictured).
A Smilegate representative stated, "The current CEOs of each affiliate will continue to lead their respective development organizations without any change in their roles."
Smilegate explained that the transition to an integrated corporate management system is being pursued to respond more swiftly to rapidly changing business environments, such as global market shifts, technological transformation, and user trends, and to concentrate its previously dispersed capabilities. Through this transition, the company aims to strengthen consistency in decision-making and establish rapid and powerful execution, thereby advancing as a truly global powerhouse in intellectual property (IP).
To this end, the management support division will be transformed into a more advanced system to better support business operations, while the development and business divisions will be structured to allow each to focus on their core work based on their respective expertise, with the goal of driving sustained growth in the global market.
