It is one of Korea's leading startup competitions, supporting the growth of promising entrepreneurs discovered through maker spaces (specialized labs) and startup infrastructure nationwide, and rewarding outstanding items.
At this year's competition, GERI was recognized for its excellent startup incubation system and expertise, winning the Best Center Excellence Award (Minister of SMEs and Startups Award). This achievement publicly acknowledges that GERI's high-performance equipment infrastructure and dedicated professional support are directly translating into tangible outcomes for startups.
In particular, GERI provided customized support for each selected startup team, including high-precision prototype production using advanced equipment (such as five-axis machining centers and industrial 3D printers), as well as consulting on design and technology implementation. As a result, three companies supported by GERI were listed among the award recipients.
First, in the company category, Novagreentech was recognized for its innovative technology and business potential, winning the Best Company Excellence Award (Minister of SMEs and Startups Award).
This technology applies a biomimetic approach inspired by the rotational principle of maple seeds, allowing pellets to spin autonomously and disperse evenly over a wide area. This significantly reduces drone operation time and costs, earning high praise from the judges.
Next, Interforce received the Excellence Award (President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development Award) for its outstanding prototype manufacturing capabilities.
This product is a non-powered ventilation system that utilizes solar heat and the chimney effect. It can be easily installed on windows without consuming electricity, minimizing heating and cooling losses while maintaining comfortable indoor air quality, which was highly regarded.
Additionally, Withelwix also won the Creativity Award (President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development Award) for its creative ideas and high-quality results, further demonstrating the excellence of GERI's systematic incubation program. Withelwix developed a high-precision automated inspection device for detecting defects in display panels, receiving high marks for its technical completeness.
Moon Chuyon, President of GERI, stated, "Winning for two consecutive years is a valuable result created by our institute's systematic support system and the passionate efforts of entrepreneurs. We will continue to provide comprehensive support using our makerspace infrastructure so that early-stage entrepreneurs with innovative ideas can overcome technical barriers and successfully enter the market."
