To facilitate this, the city established a new "Disaster Situation Team" within the Safety Management Division during its organizational restructuring in July and hired two additional disaster response specialists.
The dedicated personnel will work in two-person day and night shifts, monitoring, responding to, and managing disaster situations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their main responsibilities include monitoring disaster situations, initial response and reporting, managing the disaster safety communication network, and operating disaster warning broadcasts.
The city expects that this reorganization will help secure the golden time during the initial stages of a disaster and significantly enhance its ability to manage disasters quickly and accurately.
