Russian Foreign Minister: "Putin to Visit India in Three Weeks for Summit"
Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India in early December for a summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on the 17th (local time).
According to TASS news agency, Minister Lavrov, during talks with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Moscow that day, said, "Your visit is very timely, considering the Russia-India summit to be held in the Indian capital (New Delhi) in three weeks next month."

President Putin and Prime Minister Modi are expected to discuss a joint response to U.S. pressure during their summit. The administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump has been pressuring importers of Russian energy, including India, with high tariffs and other measures to block funding for Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Minister Lavrov held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that day to discuss Iran's nuclear program. The ministry said the call was initiated by the Iranian side ahead of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors meeting.
