Gyeongnam Information University Hosts University Student Division Exhibition at "KOREA World Food Championship"

Gyeongnam Information University announced on November 14 that it recently hosted the "2025 KOREA World Food Championship - Gyeongnam Information University University Student Division Exhibition Competition," organized and overseen by the Korea Culinary Promotion Association and the Korea Culinary Association.
The competition was held at the university's 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall, with more than 80 students from the Department of Hotel Culinary Arts and the Department of Hotel Baking and Pastry participating. The students competed fiercely in two categories: culinary arts for food service and baking & pastry.
The event featured a variety of categories, including world and specialty cuisine as well as pastry desserts. Students demonstrated outstanding skills and received high praise. In addition, an academic exhibition from both departments was held alongside the competition, showcasing diverse works and enhancing the event's appeal.
As for the results, the Grand Prize in the Exhibition Competition category (Minister of Environment Award) was awarded to Kim Eunhye, Lee Soyeon, Cho Jooyoung, and Park Junhyeong in the culinary arts for food service division, and to Park Minsu in the baking & pastry division. The Grand Prize in the culinary arts for food service division went to Kim Nanghyeon and three others. Several other awards were also presented, including the Administrator of the Rural Development Administration Award, the National Assembly Member Award, and the President of the Korea Culinary Promotion Association Award.
To support students' career preparation, a recruitment briefing session was also held with participation from three companies: CJ Foodville Tous Les Jours, Genz Bakery, and Montbell Shelter Bakery Cafe. Through this event, students gained practical information, explored career paths, and received valuable support for future employment.
