Mokpo University, Shipbuilding and Marine Industry’s Big 3 Gather: "Direct Access to Job Sites"
HD Korea Shipbuilding, Hanwha Ocean, HJ Shipbuilding & Construction, and Others Participate
The National Mokpo University LNG Hydrogen Cryogenic System Research Center announced on the 14th that it held the "2025 Company Visit Program and Job Fair" together with the Center for Future Innovation Talent Development in Shipbuilding and Marine Industry, providing students with hands-on experiences at shipbuilding and marine industry sites, as well as recruitment information.
This program was attended by about 90 participants, including professors and undergraduate students from the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. Participants visited key companies and research institutes in the domestic shipbuilding industry, such as Yuil Co., Hanwha Ocean, and the Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering, where they observed advanced technology sites including production processes, smart yard systems, and deep-sea engineering research.

View original imageAt these sites, students experienced the flow of technological change and the work environment firsthand, allowing them to concretely understand the competencies required by the industry. They also participated in the "Korean Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers 2025 Autumn Conference Company Promotion and Job Fair," held at the Changwon Convention Center for two days starting on the 13th.
The job fair, which featured major domestic shipbuilding companies such as HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Hanwha Ocean, and HJ Shipbuilding & Construction, provided opportunities for company promotion, recruitment consultations, and on-site interviews, enabling students to gather practical employment information.
In particular, at the "Young NAOE Open Talk," university students majoring in shipbuilding and marine engineering from across the country and corporate HR managers gathered in one place to freely exchange opinions on future strategies for the industry and the qualities needed in future talent, enhancing the sense of engagement.
The National Mokpo University LNG Hydrogen Cryogenic System Research Center stated, "This is a career education program where students can directly observe and learn from the industry field, gaining both technology trends and recruitment information at the same time," adding, "It will serve as an important foundation for nurturing future core talent who will lead the digital transformation and eco-friendly innovation of the shipbuilding and marine industry."
