HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Unveils Latest Naval Vessels at Bangkok Defense Exhibition, Establishing Foothold for Thai Exports

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is participating in an international defense industry exhibition in Thailand to establish a foothold for exporting next-generation frigates.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that from November 10 to November 13, 2025 (local time), it will take part in the “Defense & Security (D&S) 2025” exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, unveiling its export-oriented frigate models and showcasing advanced shipbuilding technologies. The D&S exhibition, held biennially, is a comprehensive defense industry event that brings together land, naval, and air defense companies. This year, more than 560 companies from over 40 countries are participating, and approximately 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.
During the exhibition, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries plans to highlight to key figures, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, the operational performance, stability, and extensive export experience of its export frigates that meet the requirements of the Royal Thai Navy. In particular, targeting the Royal Thai Navy’s upcoming frigate procurement project scheduled for bidding next year, the company will present three models of its latest 3,000-ton class export frigates (HDF-3200, HDF-3600, HDF-4000).
The HDF-3200 is a model previously delivered to the Philippine Navy. The HDF-3600 is being co-produced, with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries responsible for design, equipment supply, and technical support, while Peru’s state-owned SIMA shipyard handles final construction. The HDF-4000 is the latest frigate model for the Republic of Korea Navy, known as the “Chungnam-class (Ulsan-class Batch-III).” Among domestic shipbuilders, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is the only company with a record of delivering this model.
