On November 10, Crown Confectionery announced the launch of three types of "Matcha Edition" products, featuring the sweet and slightly bitter flavor of matcha.
This is the first time Crown Confectionery has bundled products under a single flavor theme. The company plans to sell a total of 800,000 units of these three new products as limited editions over a three-month period starting in November.
The new products include Matcha Heim, Couque D’Asse Matcha, and Creamble Matcha. They are made with premium matcha from Boseong, Korea’s top green tea-producing region, which reduces astringency while preserving the tea’s unique aroma. By using whole green tea leaves, the products offer a deep flavor, allowing consumers to fully enjoy the rich taste of tea leaves in the confectionery.
Couque D’Asse features a cream with matcha’s signature sweet and slightly bitter taste sandwiched between soft biscuits. Matcha Heim contains a generous amount of matcha in both its cream and wafer, turning the entire product green inside and out. Creamble has increased its inner cream content by 10%, delivering a richer umami of green tea and a more satisfying bite. The packaging design also highlights the green color of tea leaves. In addition, the company plans to re-release "Corn Matcha," which sold out 2 million units after its launch last year, alongside the three Matcha Edition products.
